How Follain Saved My Skin During Pregnancy

Since I found out I was my pregnant with my second, I’ve been more health conscious. I’ve been eating nutritious meals, practicing yoga, and even omitting carbs. Regardless of how healthy I’ve been, I still experience occasional hormonal symptoms including acne. My breakouts are generally mild but when they get severe, I feel helpless and frustrated.

Some of my most used skincare products are suddenly too harsh for my skin and the products that I thought were safe and clean, are actually full of harmful toxins. You wouldn’t even believe how long the list of ingredients to avoid during pregnancy is — benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, formaldehyde, retinol– the list goes on. It’s hard enough finding products that actually work for my skin, but now I have to find products that are effective and also safe for my baby. My prenatal yoga instructor and I were discussing this problem and she recommended I try Follain, a retailer that sells clean, safe, and non-toxic skincare and beauty products.

Follain has a strict approval process to ensure that every product is tested and validated as safe so their customers only get the best products. They carry a wide variety of products and brands, so no matter what your skin type is you’ll find something that will work for you. I especially love how all the ingredients of each product are listed on the website–no gimmicks. Follain takes extra strides to be totally transparent about what’s in their products and why, making sure that every ingredient is used for a reason.

Getting the products was easy. I started with the skincare quiz to find personalized products for my acne-prone skin during pregnancy. After completing the questions, I received a recommended routine personalized for my skin, including several options for a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and treatment. To start off, I purchased Pai‘s Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser and Josh Rosebrook‘s Hydrating Accelerator toner. Both products are affordable and cost less than the “natural” products I was using before. They range from $35-50 and are a great size. The cleanser exfoliates without leaving my face feeling stripped and dry, and its rose scent is light and soothing. The toner has been working really well for my breakouts; the spray bottle makes it super easy to apply and my skin always feels hydrated and plump afterwards.

It’s only been a few days of pairing these products and I’ve already seen great results. The best part is knowing that they’re gentle and clean, but still effective. My acne has cleared up and my skin feels the healthiest it’s been since before my pregnancy. Since I started shopping with Follain, the way I view my skin and health has changed. I feel more confident about what I’m putting in my body as well as my baby’s, and you can’t put a price tag on that.
